Reagent for HLA-B27 Antigen Determination

Human Leukocyte Antigen B27, a class I surface antigen encoded by the B locus in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) presents microbial antigens to T-Lymphocytes. The onset of seronegative spondyloarthropathies that includes ankylosing spondylitis, Reiter's disease, psoratic arthritis and inflammmatory bowel disease is associated with the expression of HLA-B27 antigen on T-Lymphocytes.

The ReaPan B27 Reagent from ReaMetrix is a dried-down two-color immunofluorescence stain, provided as a ready-to-use test. It is suitable for determining HLA-B27 antigen expression by flow cytometry in lysed human whole blood samples (lyse-no wash technique). This reagent is intended for specific use on open system flow cytometers (e.g. BD FACScan and BD FACSCalibur cyometers).

Key Features of ReaPan B27 Reagent
  • Convenience- Provided as a dried-down reagent in a ready to use format, requiring minimal pipetting.

  • Stability - Dried-down reagent does not require cold storage. Fixed and stained samples can be stored for up to 7 days prior to analysis.

  • Simple Sample Workflow - Reagents employ simple protocol of lyse/no wash protocol.

  • Improved Specificity - The presence of B7 antibody in the reagent reduces false positives due to cross-reactivity of B27 antibody with B7 antigen.
